As an Arsenal fan, IMO they had to give Ole the permanent job given how well they were playing and winning games. Easy in hindsight to say they shouldn’t have given it on a permanent. Having said all that, in the first place Ole was given it as a sentimental decision based on being a club legend. Difficult to see who they can get who has the pedigree and playing style for the job. Woodward should go, the board needs a shakeup too.

I have been reading a lots of these comments, people blaming Van Gal, others Mourinho, but the person that should be blamed, It's not mention by Man United supporter " Edd Woodward". The man is clueless about football, that's why Man United is in the situation they are. Van Gal said he ( Edd) was hurting Man United, they may have taking it with a pint of salt, because he was sacked, but the man is 100% right. Good businessman, but hopeless when it comes to football understanding. Liverpool supporter here.

Juve was been in this situation after they able to promoted back to serie a in 2007 till 2012. Juve has been in this situation exactly (trophyless situation) like man utd. And how exactly juve able to transform back? New club president in 2010. A president who know how to manage football club and know whom to choose to become juve sport director. I think these are exactly what man utd need right now. A visioner new club president and a talented sport director.

Gary Neville, I disagree for the first time. Lukaku's head was turned by the United board and fans. He wanted to be at the club and score goals, but once he didn't feel the support; he wanted out.

Gary Neville has no access to Wikipedia so here you go Gary: _On 2 January 2014, Solskjær was announced as manager of Cardiff City. He won his first game in charge after coming from behind to beat Newcastle United 2-1 in the third round of the FA Cup two days later. Cardiff then struggled for points and after defeats against Swansea City, Hull City, Crystal Palace and Sunderland, were relegated back to the Championship following a 3-0 away defeat to Newcastle. At the end of the season, Cardiff finished 20th, collecting only 7 wins and 30 points. He departed on 18 September 2014 following Cardiff City's poor run of form at the start of the Championship campaign._

I think ManU's problem is that they simply don't realise that it's over for them, you just can't keep being no.1 forever. Just like the example of Liverpool - they were at the top for a long time and then they hit a 30 year spell of being average. Listening to them talking how do we get back to Feruson shape is like Leicester discussing how they are going to win the PL this season. That aside Pogba is a cancer, they should have gotten rid of him last summer.

Can't put all the blame on Ole and none on the players. Man United is full of deadwood atm, but the players brought in by Ole have performed well. Look at the success of Daniel James. Incredible signing for only £16m. Maguire and Wan-Bissaka were also the right signings to make. Ole needs to be given more time in charge. After all, Fergie took 3/4 years to win anything and when he did it was an FA Cup. Huge success doesn't happen overnight, especially these days.

This is the consequence of not getting the right manager at the right time again and again. The ex Molde FC coach should never have got the job. Gary Neville is just protecting his mate which is poor. He should be objective and say it how it is like his reputation suggests.

You always, always, need a blend of youth and experience. Selling Lukaku, a proven premier League goal machine, was always going to come back and bite you in the arse. As for Solakjaer, he is not a premier League manager, let alone a Man Utd manager. I agree with Nev tbh, the change in managers and their philosophy's is massive. JM only cares about short term success. 2-3 seasons tops. Solakjaer has said he wants long term success, multiple years, because he clearly loves the club and wants to be there. They have made their decision, give him time and money to rebuild. Take two seasons of hurt and obscurity.
