If I were to list my favorite reviews, it would include the Vector W8 and this - the 1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette. It would be the only list, ever, that includes both the Vector W8 and the 1996 Oldsmobile Silhouette.

@wikiih our old "North American" cars from the 60's commonly had them. They are making a comeback here now. My 2016 FRS has small triangular windows in the front. Part of the reason why I bought it. Caracter.

Thematically you could say that neither sucked nearly as bad as you would have thought.

Doug:“Giant triangular windows... no other car has this!” Me: “what?? oh, North Americans don’t know about Citroen and its Grand C4 Picasso. I get it now”

11:54 no, they had at least 3 versions of the van and the cheapest way for them to make them all look different was to have this one look like all windows so it wouldn't look like the other.

The one thing I remember most about these vans is that the centre of the drivers seat and the centre line of the steering wheel about about 4" off of each other. Just imagine driving with the steering wheel a full 4" to the right of where it should be.

People these days claim they need their mini van to do 0-60 in 8 seconds to be "adequate" power. I had my 1993 Eurovan with 109hp and never had an issue driving around town. Pulled the van just fine

Unfortunately, my 2016 Scion tC has the third brake light mounted WAY below the side lights (6 inches off of the ground). This isn't safe. My 2012 tC didn't have this design.

During the Beltway Sniper situation was going on, my truck was in the shop so they let me borrow one of these. So I’m trying to get things done driving around as a white man, bald, in a white van ( the FBI Profile of the shooter). I got stopped 3 times that day. I actually liked the van. It was well kept and drove as good as a van does.

Okay Doug so the third cubbyhole that's on the ceiling is for tissues. Those rear seats that you said weren't foldable, those were actually foldable because they had built-in cup holders. I used to work at the Pontiac plant in Tarrytown New York before they moved. And then later on in a garage and all these three dustbuster vans as you call them were junk. By the way I've never heard that term dustbuster van before. It must have been a regional thing. I wanted to add putting a state inspection sticker on those windows we're nearly impossible. Most of us just put it on that small triangle window.

My family used to have one. Unfortunately ours doesn't have automatic door and we can't close it manually either. So we would get everyone in the van and hit the gas and stomp on the brake to close the sliding door 😂🤣😂

Oddly enough, the only reason I remember this van is my moms friend had one. We were going to Six Flags and we had some sandwiches in a grocery bag. I took the last sandwich and I let the bag go. My moms friend who was driving had her window open and the bag caught the wind and wrapped itself around her face while she was driving on the expressway.. She tried 3 times to pull it off and she freaked out almost killed us all. All I remember was feeling bad...and her muffled screams 🤣

And if somebody busted ass in that van those vent windows did not evacuate the stench very quickly and in some cases it reeked so bad you had your shirt around your nose for half an hour or more till it finally disapated

European vans in civilian versions also usually only had one sliding door on the passenger side. Police had mostly on both sides. If there is an old van repainted a long time ago this is the easiest way to tell whether it is ex-police or civilian.

I'll be honest, I actually like the idea of just one rear sliding door in a minivan. I've liked it since I was a kid, because as a kid, it felt more cozy and safe that there was only 1 opening to the cold, outside world, while you could tuck into the other insulated side, like an animal finding a corner to sit in. lol

I had one. The most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. It never failed. 349k miles. It once overheated and the gauge said it was over 280 degrees. It still drove 18 miles to my home and it burned oil. The fuel door had a nest of hornets in it. Some thieves tried to steal petrol and I heard shouting and ran outside as men were rolling in the ground screaming in pain. It was so sad yet so hilarious I couldn't help but laugh. We called it the space shuttle. I slept in it many times and it was very comfortable.
