Bruh when one of the girls talked about math compared from middle school to HS it’s sooo true, I struggled in middle school because of the way they taught math and got b- and c and now in high school I take math honors and have an A+. I was just really in my head

One of my favorite episodes Jubilee. I'm in grad school now and relate more with latter, but this really shows how social factors, or being socially acceptable, influence how kids look at the world..automotive tech, taking care of my parents, parents never did college, mental health but wanting to make parents proud vs. "trying to get out", "working my ass off," "take education for granted", "successful". Really interesting!

I had to comment on this because people get it wrong all the time. Knowledge isn't smarts. Smarts is like a processor. It has no memory. It gets the input and gives the output. Knowledge is the bank of output you create. Given enough time everybody can create a body of knowledge. Being smarter means you just do it faster. So, i know stuff means just that, i know stuff. It doesn't mean i am smart. That being said there are a lot of things the human body and mind can do, so you are gonna be smarter in the ones you practice.

I can't really blame flunking students because im one of them . I'm more like to enjoy my life than to be in school doing your homework all day, stress and depression. But even if I'm not serious at school i also not enjoying my life Sometimes I'm nothing No one care about me, Sometimes they forget about my birthday i don't have that much friends I'm not like them going out all the time my life is different I'm always staying in this boring home. I don't even have Facebook, instagram, twitter, etc i only have youtube app on my device because my storage can't run Facebook app And my mother and my father divorce just because my father is suspecting that my mom is with other guys My mom is ofw and i think the reason why they break up bc of there conversation they don't communicate to each other after mom go abroad and mom is only communicating to us And after 2 years my dad already have a mistress. Like he want me to go to her house after school to help her with the dishes even if i don't want to and I'm just not expecting that after a few months my father and us (not including my mom she is outside) move to that ugly woman's house. He didn't even ask me if i am ok if we move to her house. HE doesn't know what his son will feel after he break up with my mom and move to that ugly woman. As long as he loves her and She loves him it doesn't matter to him not at all And now the joy and the happy me from back then is now gone from the time my family is broken I only feel sadness, loneliness, madness and anger I don't feel happiness anymore bc after my family broke my heart is also left broken Sorry if my grammar is bad I'm only 17 I'm Filipino And i have 1 older sister and 1 younger brother

I flunk because I like to experiment different concepts and theories. Failure is something akin to progress, like whats the use of passing if I didn't learn anything new. And school is somewhere I feel safe failing and mature and be ready. I dont feel like graduating if I dont feel ready. I'm sorry to my parents for the hardships but I'll repay you, for now bear with me, Im still developing my way around. Sometimes school is like a black mirror movie we repeat it to find different endings but at the end we feel satisfaction because the process is enjoyable.

Randy is actually smart AF. The other straight A students will quickly learn the trades will make more money than the rest. School does not necessarily mean money. School doesnt mean your smart. I've been on both sides. I have a bachelors and now work in the trades. I make a whole lot more money than the engineers or the project management does. I make more during a recession because a trade is a necessity to society. At the the end your degree doesnt have a GPA attached to it. It's just better to be resourceful and know where to find an answer rather than how much you know.

I flunked a year in my countries equivalent to high school and otherwise had barely passing grades. Did my grades define my intelligence? I didn't think so. And to be clear I had no good reasons for my poor performance in school. No problems at home or anything similar. I just put no effort in to it and was not motivated in any way to change that. After barely finishing I got a job as a cook in a nursing home. It was a decent enough job, but I had a nagging feeling that I could do more, so eventually I decided to give collage a try. 8 years later I have two masters degrees in nuclear physics and biomedical engineering with a roughly 9.5 average. I still don't believe my grades define my intelligence.

I went from a D+ student to an A+ student when I went to high school. Turns out the education system doesn't prepare you for the pure mayhem that is college, nor does it prepare you to have a mental break down at 18 years old to the point where you see many mental health clinics and then you get diagnosed with autism. TRUST ME when I say HIGH SCHOOL GRADES DO NOT DETERMINE HOW YOU REACT TO ADULTHOOD.

I know school isn't an entire reflection of your intelligence but if you're not comprehending anything and constantly getting C & D's and not doing the work then yeah ill be controversial and say you're not smart. its not about the subject matter its about having the skill to comprehend and learn and work hard and take the skills you use and apply them. Sometimes A students aren't book smart but they're socially smart. Knowing the value of a college letter and spreading your grades equally instead of all your time into one subject: thats smart. Forming good relations with your teacher: thats smart. working smarter not harder: thats smart doing extra curricular to better your general knowledge: thats smart etc - when you combine those things sometimes studying for hours on end isn't what will get you the grades

I have graduated from highschool and I never wanted to be a straight A student not because I didnt want to, not because the work was hard or I didnt understand it. I understood all of my work but for me when I know the information I'm being taught I become bored and purposefully skipped assignments or homework and still ace big tests that the rest of my class were stressing about, people came to me for help, and explanations about information that my teachers have taught that day or a couple units ago. Even the students who cheated were asking me for the answers but, I was just bored with the information I was being taught because I already understood it so I just started not to care because I didn't feel it was important. I dont like to be that person who can wiz through they're work and just be done. I like to be challenged when I'm focused on something or when I'm working, that's just how I am and if I dont find it challenging I simply lose interest and I became into a "at least im passing" student because I purposefully skipped work and didnt find my school work intriguing enough to give any attention. I want to be challenged when I do work, it makes me use my brain, and use its capabilities to its fullest and sharpen and increase my mindset. But I have no interest in anything easy, this is just me. I get bored with things that dont force me to rack my brain over what I'm doing and what I need to do in order to get a high grade on my assignment. I had every single one of my senior teachers pull me aside and ask me why I'm not doing assignments and why I'm no putting 100% to my HW but still getting A's on my test. I ended up being a B and C student because of it, could I have pulled through all the boredom and beenan all A student...... easily. I simply chose not to.

Honestly though kindergarten - 8th grade doesn't matter, once you get into high school that's when it starts to matter, but it still doesn't matter that much anyways. And plus, it's easy to get good grades, it's called paying attention, and studding, though, half the things you learn in school you will NEVER use, EVER.

I used to think that doing well in school was very important growing up. I realized that school doesn't matter. I make more money than a few people that I know when to college and got a career. School doesn't make a difference at all!!! Also grades don't reflect your intelligence. I got super good grades and that was more hard work and dedication that raw intelligence. I had to study a lot to understand the same subject that my brother would get magically. Yet, I had abilities others didn't. We are all different and we all have different strengths. Play to those strengths and you will be successful.
