And I was still wondering, it's 2020 and Americans leaving parcels on the doorway and are suprised they got stolen. Wow. For years in Europe, atleast in Estonia we have lockers in use. If there's a parcel to pick up, you will get text message. Or theres possible put up private locker on your property.

2:25 Thats Is Not A Thief, its the UPS driver from the GlitterBombTrap 2.0 youtube video, who saved a package. Best would be to ask Amazon what they were thinking when they made this choice. A. Didnt they know this would happen, basically makes them Incompetent. B. Did they know, but thought it be much less. So not Incompetent but rather Bad Planners. C. They did know, and accounted correctly for this level of stolen packages, making them Cold and Calculated, but possibly with ulterior motives.

Having to go somewhere else to pickup my package COMPLETELY DEFEATS the purpose of ordering online for me. If I ever have a package stolen and the seller didn't offer a replacement, I'd stop shopping there. That said, I check the delivery date and make sure I'll be home before ordering something.

It's obvious, each house/apartment should have some kind of doggy-door or box, mounted inside of the house or outside, so only delivery companies can open it. And why are you guys scared to give access to your houses to companies like Amazon? You have wooden/glass doors everywhere. Just google for "reinforced doors in Russia (бронедвери в россии)" - you'll how much difference.

yeah next thing you know we will be hearing about security vulnerabilities with these tracking Apps, where Hackers can hack into these Apps and re route any package to their location making the post delivery person believe that it is the legitimate consumer, because everyone must know and remember that Hackers did this with the popular Pokémon GO game at the time and unsuspected players would end up finding themselves been bashed and mugged, so yeah I can see this quite possibly happening

Delivery use to be done by the courier first wringing your doorbell, and if your not home and theirs no drop box, they keep the package and attempt to deliver the next day, If the residence isnt their to receive they would leave notice of their attempts and hold the package at their distribution location, for you to come pickup with your id. But about a decade ago, Couriers stopped doing that, because as a whole it vastly increased workloads due to people not being present to receive their packages. This, even during a time when tracking information was available to the consumer. SO mail services said screw it!!! its on the customers not on us, To prevent backlogs of packages building up and ultimately losses occurring regardless. So now couriers simply drop off packages at your doorstep, and most dont even wring the bell letting people know they stopped by. And with that being the case, people come along and steal your mail. And here's something to note.. The people that steal mail.. are not who you think. Seldom is it your knee-jerk response that the culprit is some minority from some bad neighborhood prowling about your gated community stealing stuff. No its not impossible but seldom is that ever the case.. MOST of the time is exactly who you wouldn't think of. People With money, people in your gated community or nearby community. Its more than often young people, teens and young adults both the have's and have not's, and mostly those who have. because this sorta stuff has become very much a game for young people, an Adrenalin rush. And this is nothing new!, this has always been the case. Little rich boys getting their thrill robbing and stealing, Because they know, No ones gonna think twice that its them, Same thing with rich girls shop lifting, They go into department stores and steal left and right because they know security is not profiling them, rather the minorities in the store. And even if they get caught, they're likely to get out of the situation because the knee-jerk response is that , their actions is somehow some way a misunderstanding. I cant tell you how many times ive seen older Caucasian people robbing the place blind while security is busy following a black person around. Its insanely pathetic how we americans treat each other. Regardless, as far as stolen mail goes, there is an easy solution. a simple sign in front of ones home stating 24hr camera surveillance. And if you have even a fake post with a fake camera it will act as a scarecrow to potential thieves who not only dont wish to be caught on camera but moreover dont want their license plate caught on camera if their driving a car. Also get a motion sensor with a light. some approaches your door , where your package is likely to be dropped off and the light turns on. A thief cant tell if its actually someone their or not, even if they eventually learn that theirs a motion sensor. they know they cant take the risk of being caught. But again. most of this is young people. going after what typically shows up in the mail.. Tech gadgets and phones. items highly desired and easily sold on ebay. A new Iphone debuts, they know the general size of the packages, and what a good score could be worth. Its petty theft but considering the cost of todays tech gadgets and especially phones, a single theft could be fairly lucrative. not to mention stealing several similar items. Such a thing is likely to be very lucrative. and this is why we're seeing more and more of this. The penalty for getting caught is fairly minor, but the overall financial gain is pretty high. And that is a very attractive combination for teens and young adults. a game, an adrenaline rush, and a decent size pay out.

Those amazon key stuff, I'm thinking that buyers should make a little door, like a dog/cat door thats opens. Install the lock at the bottom so when the delivery person comes, they can unlock it, open it, slid the package and close it. For big orders, have it stay at the lockers. IDK just a small idea.

Well, this is a complete no-brainer. Like gun-violence. Don't put the package on someone's doorstep. Ever. Have the package delivered to drop-off points, being the local grocery store or some such. Where you'll need an ID or similar to pick up your package. It's really not rocket science. As always, the US is still struggling to invent the wheel.
