I’ve been vouching for the Bose QCs ever since I bought a pair of the first QC gen 2 years ago. Bose IMO is the king of sound devices. The noise cancelling is amazing too, I use them almost every day and even to sleep. 100 out of 10

I get 20+ hours battery life and can’t hear the plane takeoff with the qc35 at 50% volume. Bose invented noise cancellation and has lead the field since it started. Supremely comfortable, regular firmware updates, and solid performance and reliability for 2 years and hundreds of hours in flight. I even sleep with them on in beds sometimes if I can hear neighbours in hotels...The only thing i dislike is you cannot charge and listen at the same time. That being said, 15 minutes charge gets you 2 hours play time.

Linus's request for USB Type C connectors on everything reminded me of something I heard recently in discussions about the upcoming Raspberry Pi 4. Apparently they'll be sticking with Micro B for the power connector because Type C isn't designed for rugged applications like what some folks will be using a Pi for. If so, I feel like some headphones that cost several hundred bucks might be a case where Micro B would be preferable. But is it really true? Would a Micro B connector be inadvisable for certain applications where Type C might fail?

i used to use the stock akg pods that came with my galaxy s8+ when i worked (Lawn care/landscape) i wanted an over hear headset for comfort as well as try to drown out alot of the noise from the mowers as well as a better sound. I went with cowin e7 pros because they were cheap and had pretty good reviews. a great headset although not so durable but we're rough on everything so not surprised. my only complaint is there seems to be some interference in the noise cancellation switch as dust and debris accumulated but if i just dont use it the interference goes away

Edit: Also they have a phenomenal battery life.

I have bought the old Bose QC 25 and I must say that the noise cancelation is really amazing. BUT: the sound is honestly nothing to write home about, especially for that price. I have expected so much more from them since everyone seems to hype Bose headphones. I mean they sound okay-ish but nothing more. If you compare them to better headphones like my AKG K702 then it's a difference like day and night. Even my Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro sound just so much better and they are made to be portable as well. The Bose QC 25 just lack clarity and especially in the high frequency range they really lack detail. They have loud bass but honestly for my taste it is just way too much. So you are left with deafening low end and okay-ish mids and pretty poor highs.

Unlikely that no one sees this, but try Plantronics RIG800HD (I presume HX anything will do!) wireless and use optical output to skip the default audio interface -> get the signal to the headphone DAC. They sound like $1k+ headphones being $100 headphones while the most comfortable wireless headphones you'll ever wear. Absolutely ridiculous value. And no - I do not have anything to do with the company. Just a friendly tip that completely jaw dropped me after testing dozens of pairs.

It would really show how good the Bose headphones are if you had a blind test. Blindfolded test subjects, people who have a lot of experience with headphones and people without and see what they think.
